Our Banking and Finance team have unparalleled knowledge of local business and regulatory environments. We offer considerable experience of a wide range of financing transactions from consumer loans and multi-million syndicated loans to specialised trade, project and acquisition finance in a wide range of industry sectors, including power and energy, infrastructure, hotel, beverages.

Our experience includes advising on the legislation, guideline, drafting and reviewing loan policies and documents for various banking products as well as providing training and advices on specific issues to various banks and financial institutions. Other interesting areas on which we have advised clients include pawnshop, peer to peer lending and setting up online lending business.

LY Tayseng

Mr. Ly is an experienced business lawyer with demonstrated focus and expertise in the areas of Corporate, Banking, Securities, Merger and Acquisition, Mining and Energy, Real Estate, Tax, Arbitration and Commercial Litigation.

Patrick SMITH

Patrick has worked extensively across a broad array of practice areas with a specialization in the banking and finance sector as both in-house counsel and in private practice throughout Southeast Asia, Japan and the UK.

Sadao MATSUBARA

Mr. Matsubara worked as a public prosecutor of Japan from 1996 to 2014. He was also a professor of the International Cooperation Department, Research and Training Institute, Justice Ministry of Japan from 2010 to 2012.

YIN Lyhout

Mr. YIN handles a broad range of corporate matters including incorporation of companies, change of company’s shareholder and director, increase of capital of the company, change of the company’s address and so on with the Council for the Development of the Cambodia, Ministry of Commerce and General Department of Taxation.

TE Muykim

Ms. Te Muykim is currently a member of the Corporate and Tax Practice Group; Civil, Commercial Litigation & ADR Practice Group; Banking & Finance Practice Group, and Japan Desk. She has been handling corporate matters such as share transfer and company incorporation, legal representation for civil litigation, and preparation of various agreements.

SUN Vannak

Mr. Sun was an intern at Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia in late 2015 and early 2016. He then started working at HBS LAW in 2017.

MENG Chou

I have worked in Chinese companies for few years. I worked as a chairman’s assistant, translator, and legal officer. From 2019 till now, I have worked as a legal officer at the Chinese real estate company and worked as senior legal supervisor at a Chinese Bank in Phnom Penh.

Chum Sopheakdey

He obtained Bachelor Degree from University of Law and Economic in 2018 and in the same time, he is also holding a certificate of Japanese-Language Proficiency N2 from Japan Foundation and Japan Education Exchanges and Service.
