Healthcare & Life Sciences
Our Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice Group has extensive experience of advising local and international clients on a broad range of legal matters relating to health including:
- The establishment and licensing of hospitals, clinics and pharmacies in Cambodia
- The importation of pharmaceuticals into Cambodia
- The labelling of and documentation to be included with pharmaceuticals
- Compliance with health and hygiene standards required to be observed by medical and other institutions
- The importation of food and beverage products and the relevant labeling requirements
- Laws applicable to tobacco and alcohol
- The protection of intellectual property rights
Some of our advisers are advisors to government ministries and assist in the drafting of laws and regulations. This gives HBS LAW an edge when it comes to dealing with ministries such as the Ministry of Health.
In relation to intellectual property rights, our advisers work closely with our Intellectual Property Practice Group to ensure that our clients receive practical and thorough advice on how to protect their intellectual property rights and our Taxation & Customs Practice Group in respect of importations. Our advisers also work closely with advisers from different practice groups where the matter involves healthcare or life sciences (e.g. the acquisition of a hospital) to ensure that practical and market-specific advice is provided.
